Yellow City Comic Convention 2021

As you all know last year we were unable to have our annual event due to Covid. We initially delayed YC3 until September, and when the situation hadn't improved, pushed it back to April of this year.  As we head into the planning of this year’s event it has become obvious to the Board that we will not be out of the pandemic by April. In fact, it has become clear that the Civic Center will likely still be set up as a vaccine site at that time and won’t be able to host our event.

So what does that mean for YC3 2021? Honestly, that is what we are trying to figure out.

We want to have an event this year. We want to give you guys something to look forward to and something exciting for Amarillo, especially after experiencing the trying times of the past year.  However, at this time, there are too many questions left unanswered. Will the virus still be widespread? Will we be forced to have our event at half capacity?  These and many other questions are what keep us up at night.

But we wanted you to know that we are watching, waiting, and planning. We are hopeful that YC3 will be back for 2021. But until we can be sure that we can have our event at full capacity without having to sacrifice the safety of our community, we feel it best to put the event on hold for now.

So while we will not be having our event April 30 - May 2 as planned, we believe (fingers crossed!) that we will see you all later in the year.
