Anime & Cosplay Shindig 2026

The Anime & Cosplay Shindig: Monroe Edition is a one-day, fan-run anime and pop-culture event presented by Kettlebriar’s Workshop at The Hangar Event Center inside the Student Union Building at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It was started to fill the gap left by the cancellation of the area’s local college con this year.

The day includes the Anime Trivia Game Show with nearly $1,000 in prizes, cosplay contests for adults and kids with cash prizes, live idol performances by Phantom Pulse, special guest filmmaker Joe Mexican (DopeSmack), cosplay guests, vendors, collectible card game tournaments hosted by A&H Games, Super Smash Bros. tournaments run by Membrane Gaming, free anime door-prize drawings and kids’ face painting. Cosplay guests include Taycosplayy, Gargoyle Grotto, Kettlebriar’s Workshop and Geek’d Armory (Stephen Hudson); Victor Nunley of The Comic Hero Show also appears, along with community groups such as Geek Devotions, Open Heart Productions, Sci-Fusion, the Louisiana Delta Community College Anime Club and Star Wars costuming groups.

Tickets are sold at the door only: $15 for ages 13 and up, $10 for college students, military, law enforcement and firefighters with ID, and free for kids 12 and under. Part of the proceeds benefit the organizer’s Literacy for the Incarcerated book-donation charity.
